On 8 April 2017, Mr McCormack, a professional football player for Brechin City FC was subject to an In-Competition test by UKAD at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie, Scotland.

Mr McCormack’s urine sample tested positive for multiple metabolites of Metandienone, which is a Prohibited Substance under s.1.1(a) of the WADA Prohibited List 2017.

The NADP Tribunal of Mr Jeremy Summers (Chairman), Professor Dorian Haskard and Professor Gordon McInnes found that Mr McCormack had acted intentionally and imposed a period of Ineligibility of four (4) years following the Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV), pursuant to Article 10.2.1(a) of the UK Anti-Doping Rules (ADR).

Mr McCormack’s ban commenced on 8 April 2017, meaning his period of Ineligibility will run until midnight on 7 April 2021.
