Administered by Sport Resolutions
In April 2017 several allegations were brought to the attention of British Canoeing, including a number of concerns about past failings of the organisation to deal appropriately with matters that had been raised previously.
British Canoeing acknowledged the seriousness of these allegations and agreed with UK Sport to jointly commission an independent investigation into these allegations.
The investigation commenced on Tuesday 1 August 2017 and the independent investigator appointed was Lance Spring, a former senior manager and police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service.
Lawrence Selby was appointed as Chair of the investigation panel, alongside panel members Sara Fenoughty and Jane Aldred.
All of the individuals selected were independent of UK Sport and British Canoeing and were appointed by Sport Resolutions, who supported the investigation.
