An independent chair appointed to lead the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme Independent Panel

An independent chair appointed to lead the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme Independent Panel

Dr. Tanja Haug has been appointed as the independent chair of the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP) Independent Panel.

The TADP Independent Panel operates separately from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) to ensure that an independent, fair and unbiased process is in place. This separation is critical to maintain the integrity and credibility of the anti-doping adjudication process. Managed and administered by Sport Resolutions, the Panel is entirely independent of the ITIA, which is responsible for administering and implementing the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme.

The Independent Panel will be led by Dr. Tanja Haug, a German lawyer specialising in sports law and arbitration with 25 years' experience, who is recognised as an expert in the areas of anti-doping, anti-corruption, integrity, disciplinary and good governance. Dr. Haug is also a member of the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal, Sport Resolutions’ International Hearing Panel, the German Court of Sports Arbitration’s Appointment Panel, the Board of the Biathlon Integrity Unit (BIU), and the chair of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Independent Vetting Panel.

Dr. Haug will act as the judicial head of the TADP Independent Panel, working with the secretariat of Sport Resolutions to provide the highest quality justice and a responsive and efficient panel administration service. She will be leading the jurisdiction of the Independent Panel, taking an active role in ensuring consistency in decision-making and in the setting and interpretation of practice and procedure throughout the Panel.
