On Wednesday, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) launched the Third Consultation Phase of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code & International Standards Update Process (2027 Code & IS Update Process) for which the Agency is soliciting stakeholder feedback by 30 May 2025.
WADA is inviting stakeholders to provide feedback on the second drafts of the 2027 Code and International Standards that were developed by the drafting teams during the Second Drafting Phase initiated in October 2024.
To submit feedback
Stakeholders are invited to provide their feedback via WADAConnect, the Agency’s online consultation platform. On WADAConnect, stakeholders will find the following documents for their review:
- Two redline versions for each of the second drafts of the 2027 Code and Standards, comparing the second drafts with:
- the first drafts (published May 2024)
- the versions currently in force
- Clean versions of the second drafts of the 2027 Code and Standards
- Summary of Major Changes for the second drafts of the 2027 Code and Standards
WADA plans to publish all comments received during this phase on its website in June 2025 in the interest of transparency, and because this is a public consultation.
Following the end of the Third Consultation Phase, final versions of the Code and IS will be prepared. The final versions will then be submitted for formal approval by the WADA Executive Committee and Foundation Board at the Sixth World Conference on Doping in Sport, which will be held in Busan, Republic of Korea in December 2025. The documents will come into force 1 January 2027.
