The Governance Code

UK Sport and Sport England have developed a Code for Sports Governance which will play a significant role in the future of the governance of the sport, physical activity and recreation sector.

The Code was formally launched on the 31st October 2016 in London, and sets out the highest standards of transparency, accountability and financial integrity that will be required from those who receive Government and National Lottery funding.

The Governance Code seminar will analyse and explain the impact of the Code on organisations seeking funding from both Sport England and UK Sport.

The seminar will provide a step by step review of the Code including:

  • New gold standards of governance – the core principle and requirements
  • Practical application of the Governance Code
  • The impact the Code has on your organisation
  • Additional obligations post-Duty of Care review and within funding agreements
